On page 13 of Delores Snider's manuscript, Maria is listed as the first child of George Archer (1882-1945) and Olivia Coleman (1891-1976). The marriage of George and Olivia did not take place until 1920, when Maria was 11. At the time of Maria's birth, Olivia Coleman was two months shy of her 17th birthday.
On page 17, Ms. Snider refers to her as Maria Coleman, daughter of George Archer. On page 18, she is called Maria Coleman/Archer). In 1910, Olivia and her daughter lived in the household of Olivia's widowed mother, Mary Sorg Coleman, along with three of Olivia's older brothers.
In 1920, Maria Coleman (11) lived in the household of widow Mary Sorg Coleman. Maria is incorrectly identified as Maria's daughter. It is believed that Maria is the daughter of Oliva Coleman. The name of her biological father is not known.
Marie Coleman Arnold's obituary appeared in The Zanesville [OH] Times Recorder on 21 Nov 1964 (pg 2 A. According to the obituary, Marie had 19 children, 14 of whom survived her.
