SUMMERFIELD - Edward J. Sorg, 74, a retired farmer of Summerfield Route 1,
died before noon Tuesday Oct 12 [1965] at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus
following an apparent heart attach at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Margery Pitts of
Columbus.
Born in Noble County, Dec. 30, 1890, he was a son of Cain and Katherine Wilt Sorg,
and was a veteran of World War I. His wife, Cora, died in 1961.
Surviving are a son, Clarence of Reynoldsburg; and two daughters, Mrs. Pitts of Colum-
bus and Mrs. Evelyn Kuhn of Caldwell; eight grandchildren; a brother, Francis, of Lancaster;
two sisters, Mrs. Lucy Schott of Waterford and Mrs. Margaret Singer of Malvern. Three
brothers are deceased.
Requiem high mass will be celebrated at St. Michael Catholic Church in Carlisle at 9:30
a.m. Friday with Rev. Fr. Rudolph Wargo officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

SUMMERFIELD - Cora M. Sort, 62, wife of Edward Sorg of Summerfield Route 1,
died at noon Monday [9 Oct 1961] in a Cambridge hospital where she had been a patient
seven weeks. Death followed a long illness. Mrs. Sorg was born in Noble County Oct 1,
1899, a daughter of Lewis and Barbara Brahler Schott. She was a lifelong resident of Noble County.
Surviving in addition to her husband are: a son, Clarence Sorg of Columbus; two daughters,
Mrs. Marjorie Pitts of Columbus; and Mrs. Evelyn Kuhn of Caldwell; a brother, Arthur Schott

Sylvester Burkhart, 78, of Caldwell Route 4, a retired farmer and father of
a Zanesville woman, died at 2:30 p.m. Monday in Chillicothe Veterans Hospital
in Chillicothe, where he was a patient a short time. He was a member of St.
Mary’s Catholic Church at Fulda and was a World War I veteran.
Surviving are two sons, Roy of Marietta and Raymond H. of Caldwell Route
4; a daughter, Miss Velma Burkhart of 1301 Ridge Ave., four grandchildren; three
brothers, Lawrence and Fred, both of Barnesville, and Edward of Caldwell; and a
sister, Mrs. Mary Biedenbach of Barnesville. His wife, Bertha, died in 1973.
Friends may call 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Brubach Funeral Home in Summerfield
where the Rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. today. A Mass of Christian Burial will

Basil was employed as an engineer at the academy.One day later, the same census-taker recorded that Basil Miday and his wife Della rented a home in Perry Twp., Stark Co., OH where they lived with their daughter Phillis (2 yrs, 4 mos). Basil and Della were both 26 years old and were 24 at the time of their first marriage. Like most of their neighbors, they owned a radio set. Basil was employed as a fireman at a college.
It is presumed that these two men are the same person.

years illness. He was a veteran of World War I.
He is survived by his widow, Mary Burkhart Biedenbach; one son
Casper J. Biedenbach of Los Angeles, Calif.; his mother Mrs. Joseph
Biedenbach; five sisters, Mrs. J. A. Kuhn of Lewisville route 1; Mrs.
George Bosold and Mrs. T. M. Ehlerman, both of Caldwell, Mrs. Earl
Stiner and Mrs. George Weisend, of Canton; and five brothers, Ambrose
and Edmund Biedenbach of Lewisville route 1; Anthony and Henry Bieden-
bach of Barnesville and Clarence of Glendale, Calif.
The body was brought to the Schumacher funeral home and will remain
there until Wednesday morning when funeral services will be held in St.
John's Catholic church at Miltonburg with Rev. Father Edwin Yocke offici-
ating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The American Legion Post No.
87 of Woodsfield will have charge of the military rites.

Relatives here have received word of the death of Frank
Haren, which occurred at his home in Middletown, Ohio,
on Tuesday, August 13th.
Surviving are his widow and one son Raymond of the home,
besides many other relatives and friends.
Mrs. Haren was formerly Miss Clementine Schumacher,
being the eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Schumacher,
north of Woodsfield.
Mr. Haren was also born and reared in Monroe County,
being a resident of Hope Ridge community. He and his wife
left this county about twenty years ago, but have visited here
on several occasions during that time.
Funeral services will be held at Middletown at 8:30 o'clock
Friday morning and burial will be made at that time.

macher, she was born December 3, 1880, north of Woodsfield.
Forty-four years ago the Haren family moved to Sidney where
they resided for a short time before going to Middletown
where they have resided.
Surviving are one son, Raymond Haren, and one grandson,
Jimmy Haren, of Middletown; two sisters, Miss Anna Schu-
macher and Miss Emma Schumacher, and one brother,
Benjamin Schumacher, all of Woodsfleld. Her husband
preceded her in death seventeen years ago.
Funeral services will be held this Thursday morning in Holy
Trinity Church at Middletown, with interment in that city.
