Obituary:
Ruth V. (Glazier) Rippel, age 83 of Canton, passed away Thursday, March 23, 2006 in her home following a courageous 22 year battle with cancer. Ruth was born in New Philadelphia, OH, to the late Charles and Verna Glazier.
Ruth was Assistant Librarian at the New Philadelphia Library. Moving to Canton in 1952, Ruth volunteered at the Middlebranch school library then served four years as School Secretary at Taft Junior High School.
In addition to her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by her ten year old grandson, Scott Dimmerling; two sisters and three brothers.
Survivors include her husband of 59 years, Howard A. Rippel of the residence; five children and four spouses, David and Susan Rippel of Maryland, Jack and Marie Rippel of Louisville, Rebecca Rippel of Canton, Jill and Roy Dimmerling of Louisville and Janice and Jim Dimmerling of East Canton; 14 grandchildren, Daniel, Nathan and Christopher Rippel, Bill and Jim McGill, Laura Bibey, Beth Ryan, Michael & Matthew Dimmerling, Jason, Jeremiah, Jennifer, Jessica Rippel and Andrew Dimmerling; nine great-grandchildren, Liam and Noah Rippel, Sarah & Sam McGill, Kyleigh and MacKenna Ryan, Kelsey and Zachary Bibey and Alexis Dimmerling.
Funeral service Monday, 11 a.m. in Good Shepherd Lutheran Church with Rev. Robert P. Sander officiating. Interment in Forest Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at Spiker-Foster-Shriver Funeral Home, 4817 Cleveland Ave. NW, Sunday from 1-4 p.m. and one hour prior (10-11 a.m.) Monday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Ruth’s memory to Hospice Of Stark County, 3611 Whipple Ave. NW, Canton, Ohio 44718 or to a charity of the donor’s choice

Records conflict on death: Dolores Snider, in "St. Mary's -- 150 Years -- Fulda, OH" states that Clara Milker died a month after her birth in 1878 and is buried in St. Mary's Cemetery (location of grave is unknown). However, Clara appears as a two-year old child in the 1880 census. In addition, the 1942 obituary of Clara's sister, Johanna Miller Brahler, lists Clara Gerden of Dayton as a surviving sibling.

his transfer to Amarillo Field, he was an instructor at Sheppard Field,

WOODSFIELD - Alice L. Buckalew, 77, of 212 Berkley Drive died at 1:10 p.m.
Tuesday (March 18, 2003) at the home of her daughter in Woodsfield. She was
born Aug. 25, 1925, in Miltonsburg, Ohio, to Fredrick and Margaret Bosald
Kress. She was a retired industrial registered nurse for Ormet Corp. at
Hannibal and was a member of St. Sylvester Catholic Church at Woodsfield.She was also the first certified IV therapist registered nurse in the state
of West Virginia.She is survived by her husband, Ralph E. Buckalew; two daughters, Rebecca S.
Baldwin and her husband, Raymond, of Woodsfield and Janet L. Egger and her
husband, James, of Jakarta, Indonesia; two sons, Ralph E. Buckalew II and
his wife, Jennifer, of Melbourne, Fla., and Timothy A. Buckalew and his
wife, Margaret, of Woodsfield; one sister, Edith Reischman and her husband,
Raymond, of Miltonsburg; one brother, George Kress and his wife, Martha, of
Woodsfield; and 12 grandchildren, Anastasia Gates, Jennifer Briggs, Sean
Scott, Benjamin Baldwin, Jason Baldwin, Nathan Baldwin, Kevin Scott,
Fredrick Buckalew, Natascha Buckalew, Austin Buckalew, Ryan Egger and Kyle
Egger.She was preceded in death by one daughter, Grace Ann Joyce; her parents; two
sisters, Florence Schumacher and Marie Cornet; and three brothers, Oscar
Kress, Karl Kress and Gilbert Kress.Funeral liturgy with Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday at St.
Sylvester Catholic Church in Woodsfield with Father David Gaydosik as
celebrant. Burial is in St. Sylvester Catholic Cemetery in Woodsfield.
Friends will be received from 4 to 9 p.m. Friday at Watters Funeral Home in
Woodsfield. Vigil services are at 8:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
