In 1920, William E. Kress (43) and his wife Glenna P. (22) lived on Camden Ave. in the Tygart District of Parkersburg in Wood County, West Virginia. Also living with them were their children Waldo (1 yr 11 mos) and Seva I. (2 mos). William was a native of Ohio; his wife and children were born in West Virginia, as were Glenna's parents. William's occupation was "role and hammer" at a shovel plant.
At the time of the 1930 census, widower William P. Kress lived on Bond St. in Parkersburg with his children Waldo (12), Slyvia (10), and Okey (7). William was employed as a laborer, but the industry in which he worked is illegible in the census. William owned the $2500 house in which he lived. Two young couples rented rooms in the dwelling.

Seva Ireta Kress, 87, of Parkersburg died Sept. 23, 2007, at St. Joseph's Hospital. She was born Oct. 2, 1919, in Parkersburg, a daughter of the late William Ernest and Glenna Pearl Stanley Kress. She was a member of the Church of Christ and attended the Camden Avenue Church of Christ in recent years. She worked at many jobs over the years, the American Viscose, O'Ames, Greiners Bakery, several restaurants and The Guard Cleaners. She lived all her life in Parkersburg and loved keeping birds and caring for them. She is survived by one brother, Okey Kress and his wife, Pearl, of Parkersburg; three nephews, Ronald Kress and his wife, Jo, of Vienna, Mike Kress and his wife, Sally, of Washington and Keith Kress and his wife, Linda, of Parkersburg; and two nieces, Linda Kress Berry and her husband, Andy, and Bonnie Kress, both of Tennessee. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Waldo Kress. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Leavitt Funeral Home in Parkersburg with Evangelist Dana Slingluff officiating. Interment will be in the Evergreen South Cemetery.
