Christian J. Hohman [Parents] 1, 2, 3 was born 4 in Oct 1888 in Kansas. He died in 1957 in Riley Co., KS. He married Myrtle C. about 1910.

In 1920, 34 year old Christian Hohman rented a farm in Highland Twp., Clay County, Kansas, where he lived with his wife Myrtle (29) and children Gerald (9), Myrtle (5), and Loren (1 yr, 7 mos.). The older two children attended school.

At the time of the 1930 census, Chris J. Hohman (47) rented a farm in Goshen Twp., Clay County, Kansas. He lived there with his wife Myrtle (40), and their children Gerald (19), Myrtle (16), and Loren (11). All three children attended school. The Hohmans were the only family of the ten families on that page of the census who owned a radio set.

Myrtle C. 1, 2, 3 was born in 1889 in Kansas. She died in 1963. She married Christian J. Hohman about 1910.

Myrtle's father was born in Pennsylvania; her mother was born in Canada and spoke English.

John Sebastian Hohman [Parents] "Bassie" 1, 2, 3, 4 was born on 16 Nov 1871 in near Fulda, Noble Co., OH. He was christened in St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception, Fulda, Noble Co., OH. He died on 1 Jan 1947. He married Anna F. Siebecker on 30 Aug 1900.

In 1920, Bassie S. Hohman (48) rented a farm in Sherman Twp., Riley County, Kansas with his wife Anna (43). There were no children in the household. His widowed mother lived next door.

At the time of the 1930 census, Bassie (58) and Anna (53) Hohman owned a home wirth $2800 in Garrison, Green Twp., Pottawtomie County, Kansas. Living with them was a 27 year old unmarried lodger named Fred Freiling, who worked as a carpenter.. Bassie Hohman worked as a farm laborer, however the property he owned was not a farm.

Renting a home a few doors away from Bassie Hohman in 1930 was a 35 year old unmarried woman named Della (or Bella) M. Hohman. Her mother was born in Kansas, and her father in Ohio. She worked as a cook in a restaraunt. The relationship between her and Bassie Hohman is not known at this time.

Anna F. Siebecker 1, 2 was born on 28 Nov 1876 in Kansas. She died on 16 May 1964. She married John Sebastian Hohman on 30 Aug 1900.

According to the 1920 and 1930 census, Anna was born in Kansas, and her father was born in Wisconsin. Her mother, who spoke German, was born in Switzerland.


Edward Pailen 1 was born in 1869. He died in 1950. He married Rosa Hohman about 1895.

Rosa Hohman [Parents] 1, 2, 3 was born on 30 Jun 1874 in near Fulda, Noble Co., OH. She was christened in St. Mary Imac Concep, Fulda, Noble Co., OH. She died in Oct 1968 in Omaha, Douglas Co., NE. She married Edward Pailen about 1895.

Andrew Hohman [Parents] "Andy" 1, 2, 3, 4 was born on 12 May 1880 in Clay Co., KS. He died in Sep 1964 in .. He married 5 Edna L. McDonald in 1908 in Clay Co., KS.

In 1920, 34 year old Andy Hohman rented a farm in Sherman Twp., Riley County, Kansas. He lived there with his wife Edna (33), and children Dessie (12), Mo D. (8), and Geneva A. (2 yrs, 2 mos). Also living with them was Andy's unmarried brother Fred (36).

From the Riley County Kansas 1925 Decennial Agricultural State census: 40 year old Andy Hohman lived in Jackson Twp., Riley Co., Kansas with his 38 year old wife Edna. Living with them were daughters Dessie (17), Genevieve (7), and Mina (5); and sons Donald (13) and Vernon (3). Everyone in the household was born in Kansas. No occupations are listed.

In 1930, Andy Hohman (50) rented a farm in Bala Twp., Riley Co., Kansas, where he lived with his wife Edna (43) and children Mc. D. (18), Geneva L. (12), Mina A. (10) and Vernon (8). The younger three children attended school. The family did not own a radio set.

Edna L. McDonald 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 was born on 17 Jun 1886 in Kansas. She died in Dec 1983 in Leonardville, Riley Co., KS. She married 6 Andrew Hohman in 1908 in Clay Co., KS.

Edna's parents were born in Indiana, according to the 1920 census.

In 1930, Fred (47) and Hattie (33) rented a farm in Jackson Twp. for $350 a month. Hattie's widowed mother, Swedish-born Helen Anderson (76) lived with them. Unlike their neighbors, the Hohmans did not own a radio set. Fred and Hattie were 38 and 24, respectively, when they first married.

Hattie Anderson [Parents] 1, 2, 3 was born on 8 Oct 1896 in Kansas. She died on 20 Jul 1989 in Leonardville, Riley Co., KS. She married Fred Hohman about 1922 in Kansas.


George W. Hohman [Parents] 1, 2, 3, 4 was born in 1887 in Kansas. He married Bertha M. Beck about 1909.

In 1920, 34 year old George Hohman lived on a rented farm in Wildcat Twp., Riley County, Kansas with his wife Bertha (36) and son Faye (8). Faye attended school the previous year.

From the Riley County Kansas 1925 Decennial Agricultural State census: 39 year old farmer George Hohman lived in Seven Mile Twp., Riley Co., Kansas with his 41 year old wife Bertha and 13 year old son Fay.

In 1930, George (44) and Bertha (46) Hohman rented a farm in Seven Mile Twp. They lived there with their son William (18). George and Bertha were 22 and 24 years old, respectively, when they first married. The Hohmans owned a radio set.

Bertha M. Beck 1, 2, 3, 4 was born about 1883 in Kansas. She died in 1948. She married George W. Hohman about 1909.

According to the 1920 census, Berth'a father was born in Indiana, and her mother was from Illinois.
