Guy Brown, 26, of 149 Sheridan street, is resting comfortably
in Good Samaritan hospital following an accident Sunday in
which he sustained a broken wrist, cranking his car.

At the time of the 1930 census, Guy H. Brown (27) and his wife Marie L. (26) rented a house for $20 a month at 149 Sheridan Street in Zanesville, Muskingum County, Ohio. According to census data, the couple had been married about 7 years. Both were natives of Ohio, as were their parents. Guy was employed as a kiln burner in a tile factory.

MICHAEL ZWICK
Mr. Zwick of Paris ave, an employe of the Stark County Engineering
Department before his retirement, died Monday night [3 Aug 1964], at
the age of 84.
Survivors include his wife, Ottillia; seven daughters, Mrs. Hilda Schaub,
Mrs. Theresa Eye and Mrs. Mary Saunier of Alliance, Mrs. Magdalan
Larson of Youngstown, Mrs. Margaret Rising of Warren, Mrs. Catherine
Lawrence of Canton, and Mrs. Florence Marshall of Louisville; two sons,
Norman of Tucson, Ariz., and Joseph of North Benton, O.; one sister, Mrs.
Rose Smithburger of Summerfield, O.; two brothers, Joseph of Lewisville,
O., and Charles of Woodsfield, O.; and 23 grandchildren and 7 great-grand-
children.
A Requiem High Mass was sung on Thursday at St. Joseph Catholic
Church in Maximo, and interment was in the church cemetery, in charge of
Paquelet Funeral Home.

Ottilia Helena Kress [Parents] "Tillie" 1, 2, 3, 4 was born on 10 Nov 1885 in Wheeling, Ohio Co., WV. She died 5 on 29 Mar 1972 in Louisville, Stark Co., OH. She was buried in St. Joseph Cemetery, Maximo, Stark Co., OH. She married 6 Michael William Zwick on 19 Oct 1909 in St. Louis Catholic Church, Louisville, Stark Co., OH.

Wedding announcement:
Tuesday morning at eight o’clock Mr. Michael Zwick and Miss Tillie Kress were united
in marriage. The ceremony was performed by Rev. Father Senner at St. Louis Catholic church
and the attendants were Miss Anna Kress and Mr. Leo Zwick, a sister and brother of the bride
and groom., respectively. The bride wore a pretty white gown with a veil, and her maid was
also gowned in white.
Mrs. Zwick is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Kress, who recently moved to Louisville
from Monroe county, Ohio. Mr. Zwick is from the same locality, but has for some time been
making his home in this vicinity.
After the ceremony the bridal party was driven to the home of Mr. and Mrs. Kress, where a
dinner was served to a few invited guests.
Mr. and Mrs. Zwick were the recipients of a number of gifts, together with the well-wishes
of their friends. They will make their home at Louisville.

Obituary:
Ottilia H. Zwick, age 86, formerly of 6043 Paris Ave. NE, Louisville passed away Wed
nesday afternoon March 29 [1972] at St. Joseph’s Nursing Home following an extended
illness. Born in Wheeling, W. Virginia November 10, 1885 to the late George and Magdalena
Reichman Kress, she lived in the Louisville area for 65 years. She was a member of St.
Joseph’s Catholic Church of Maximo and the church’s St. Ann’s Altar Society. She was
preceded in death by her husband Michael Zwick in 1964.
Survivors include seven daughters; Mrs. Joseph (Hilda) Schaub and Mrs. Harold (Theresa)
Eye both of Alliance, Mrs. Rudy (Magdalen) Larson of Youngstown, Mrs. Harold (Margaret)
Rising of Warren, Mrs. Carl (Catherine) Lawrence of Canton, Mrs. Albert (Mary) Saunier of Albuquerque, New Mexico, and Mrs. Clyde (Florence) Marshall of Louisville; two sons,
Norman A. Zwick of Tucson, Arizona and Joseph M. Zwick of North Benton, O.; one
brother, John G. Kress of Louisville; three sisters, Mrs. Norman Wilhelm of Canton, Sister
Mary Leone HMM of Akron and Sister Mary Bertille HMM of Warren, 23 grandchildren
and 28 great-grandchildren.
Because of Holy Week, a committal service was held Saturday at 10 AM at St. Joseph’s
Catholic Church and St. Joseph’s Cemetery, and a A Mass of Resurrection was held
Monday at 10 AM in St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. Friends called at the Paquelet Funeral
Home on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM.

In 1910, 60 year old farmer George Kress lived on a rented farm in Nimishillin Twp., Stark Co., Ohio with his wife of 30 years Lena (48) and children John (21), Katie (17), and Margaret (15). George's daughter Tillie Kress Zwick lived a few doors away. Only Margaret attended school.

George Kress, 86, died from complications Wednesday at
6 p.m. at his home at 303 W. Broad street. The deceased was born
in Wheeling, W.Va.. He has been a resident of Louisville since retiring
from the farm a number of years ago. Besides his widow, Lena, he
leaves one son, John Kress, Rt. 3, Alliance; four daughters; Mrs.
Michael Zwick, R. D. Louisville; Mrs. Norman Wilhelm; Canton; Sr.
Leone, Youngstown; Sr. M. Bertille, Warren; and one sister, Mrs. John
Reischman, East Liverpool. Services will be held at 9:30 Saturday morn-
ing. The Rev. John T. Ruffing will officiate. Burial in St. Louis cemetery.

Magdalena Reischman [Parents] 1, 2, 3, 4 was born on 4 Aug 1860 in Miltonsburg, Monroe Co., OH. She died 5 on 15 Jan 1958 in Louisville, Stark Co., OH. She was buried in St. Louis Cemetery, Louisville, Stark Co., OH. She married 6 George Kress on 1 Jun 1880 in Monroe Co., OH.

In the 1880 census, the wife of George Kress is named Ellena. This may have been a variation of Lena, which is a common nickname for Magdelena. The names Helena and Magdelena were frequently interchanged.

MRS. GEORGE KRESS
Aged 97, Mrs. Magdalen Kress passed away on Wednesday
of last week in St. Joseph’s Hospice where she had resided about 20
years. She had lived in this community about 50 years.
Surviving are a son, John of R.D. 3; four daughters, Mrs.
Tillie Zwick of RD 3, Mrs. Anna Wilhelm of Canton, Sister M. Leone
of St. James Church at Lakewood, and Sister M. Bertille of St. Joseph’s
Hospital, Warren; also two sisters, Mrs. Tillie Haynes of Wheeling
W. Va., and Sister M. Isabelle of St. Francis Convent in Pittsburgh, PA.,
and 22 grandchildren and 53 great-grandchildren.
Solemn Requiem High Mass was sung at St. Louis Catholic
Church on Saturday when burial in charge of Paquelet Funeral Home
was in the church cemetery.

VILLA MARIA - Sister Mary Leone Kress, 92, of the Sisters of the Humility
of Mary, died Tuesday, Feb. 12 at the Villa Maria infirmary. Sister Leone was
born Sept. 8, 1892 in Harriettsville, a daughter of George and Magdalena Reishman
Kress. She joined the order from St. Louis Parish in Louisville on Jan. 23 1914, and
professed her vows on Jul 18, 1916.
Sister Leone had spent 56 years in food service including 35 years in the Cleveland
Diocese. During those years, she worked at St. Anthony Boys Home in Cleveland, St.
Mary Seminary, Villa Maria, Wickliffe; Lourdes Convent, Cleveland; and St. James and
St. Christopher parishes, Cleveland.
In the Youngstown Diocese, Sister Leone served at St. Aloysius, East Liverpool;
Mount Marie Academy, Canton; St. Elizabeth Hospital Medical Center, Youngstown;
St. Joseph Riverside Hospital, Warren, and for 12 years at the Villa Maria Community
Center. She retired in 1972.
She leaves a sister, Mrs. Norman Wilhelm, of Canton. Another sister, Sister Bertille
Kress, died Nov. 26, 1983.

Sister had been a nurse for 65 years. She leaves two sisters, Mrs. Anna

PA; nieces and nephews.
Burial was Tuesday of this week at Villa Marie Convent in
PA. Sister Bertille along with Sister Leone entered the convent together
on Jan 20, 19194 from St. Louis Parish.

SUNDAY OPEN HOUSE FOR SCHABUS' 50TH
Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Schaub of 6897 Parks Ave., NE, Alliance are celebrating
their 50th wedding anniversary. Mr. Schaub and Hilda Zwick were married April 14,
1936 in New Cumberland, W. Va., by Rev. Howland. The are the parents of two
sons, Richard and William, both of Louisville.
The couple have 10 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Mr. Schaub is retired
from Biery Cheest Co. They are members of Paradise United Church of Christ.
An open house celebration will take place on April 13 at their home, 2 - 5 p.m. hosted
by their sons.

Joseph J. Schaub, age 82, of Louisville, passed away Monday Feb. 12, 1996 in Aultman
Hospital. He was born in Canton, Ohio on Nov. 21, 1913 to Wesley and Josephine Pilot
Schaub, and was retired from Biery Cheese Co. of Louisville. He was a member of the
Paradise United Church of Louisville.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Hilda in 1993; 1 brother and 4 sisters, and is
survived by 2 sons, Richard of North Canton and William of Louisville; three sisters, Mrs.
Paul (Rita) Hoover, Emma Schaub - both of Louisville - Mary Frank of Canton; 4 brothers,
John, Tom, and Paul, all of Louisville, Ted of St. Petersburg, FL; 10 grandchildren and 19
great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 16, in the Stier-Israel Funeral Home of
Louisville with Dr. Kline Roberts III officiating. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Thursday
at the funeral home. Interment will be in Sunset Hill Burial Park.

She was preceded in death by one sister, Theresa Eye, and is survived by her husband, Joseph, to who she had been married 57 years; two sons, Richard of North Canton and William of Louisville; five sisters, Magdelena Larson of Pennsylvania, Peggy Rising of Warren, OH, Catherine Lawrence of Canton, Mrs. Clyde (Florence) Marshall of Louisville, Mrs. Albert (Mary) Saunier of Albuquerque, NM; two brothers, Norman Zwick of Tucson, AZ, Joseph Zwick of Naples, FL; ten grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
Services were held on Monday, June 14 at 11 a.m. in Stier-Israel Funeral Home in Louisville, with Rev. Robert K. Keiser officiating. Interment was in Sunset Hills Burial Park.
