In 1920, Chas. Maurer (42) and his wife Annie (46) rented a home at 413 Verona St. in Braddock, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania. Living with them were their children Mary (14), Joseph (12) Charles (10), Anna (8), and Loretta (6). All of the children attended school. Charles was employed as a driver for a grocery store. Two doors down lived Annie Schweinberg Maurer's aunt, Annie Matthieu Schweinberg. Charles' father was born in Germany. His mother was a native of Ohio.

At the time of the 1930 census, 53 year old Charles Maurer lived with his wife Annie (56) in a rented home (rent $35) at 920 Braddock Ave., Braddock, Allegheny Co., Pennsylvania. Based on census data, they had been married for about 26 years. Living with them were their children Joseph (23), Charles (21) and Anna (19). Charles was a self employed paper hanger, Joseph worked in a furniture store, Charles as a weigh master in a steel mill and Anna as a telephone operator. The family did not own a radio.

William Schweinberg had a great sense of humor and loved to tell jokes. He and Susan Hogg eloped and were married in Lorain, OH. William used to joke that the headlines read "Schwein runs away with a Hogg." (There is no evidence to indicate that any such story ever appeared in the local paper.) William was a jovial man with a heary belly laugh who loved children. He was a skilled mason.

In 1900, William Schweinberg (23) rented a home at 135 Mills St. Braddock, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania. He lived there with his wife of one year, Susan (20) and their infant son Leo F. William worked as a day laborer in a steel mill. His brother Louis lived two doors away.

In 1910, 33 year old William F. Schweinberg lived with his wife of 12 years, Susan (30) in an unnumbered mortgaged home on North Holland Ave. in Rankin, Allegheny Co., Pennsylvania. Living with them were their children Leo (9), Mary E. (8), William C. (7), Edward S. (6), and Aelred (3). The 3 older children attended school. William worked as a laborer in a steel mill. According to the census, William was born in Pennsylvania and his parents in Germany; Susan and her parents were born in Scotland; and all of the children were born in Pennsylvania. According to the census, Susan immigrated to the United Sates in 1888. Susan had given birth to 5 children all of whom were still living.

On 12 Sep 1918, 40 year old William Schweinberg of 318 North Holland St. in Rankin filled out a US draft registration card. He gave his birth date as 13 Feb 1878. His nearest relative was his wife, Susan Schweinberg, of the same address. William was employed as brick layer for American Steel and Wire Co., Rankin Works in Braddock, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania. William was described as being of medium height and slender build, with brown eyes and black hair, and no physical disabilities. When filling out his name, William drew a horizontal line where the form asked for his middle initial, suggesting that he had no middle name.

Susan Hogg 1, 2, 3 was born on 6 Jun 1879 in Furness, England or Scotland. She died on 8 Mar 1958 in Braddock, Allegheny Co., PA. She was buried in Calvary Cemetery. She married 4, 5 William F. Schweinberg before 1899.

At the time of the 1910 census, Joseph (32) and Rosa (28) rented a home at 739 Helena St. in Braddock. They lived there with their two sons, Joseph A. (2), and James R. (2 mos.) Joseph was employed as a carpenter.

In 1930, Joseph Schweinberg (51) owned a home worth $6000 at 147 Camp Ave. in Braddock. He lived there with his wife, Rose (48) and their children Joseph A. (20), Clarence V. (17), Kenneth Leo (14), Russell J. (12), Thelma G. (8), and Margaret E. (5). Kenneth, Russell and Thelma attended school. Joseph was employed as a painter for an electrical manufacturer.

In 1910, 29 year old John C. Schweinberg lived with his wife of 7 years, Elizabeth in Mifflin Twp (currently the Homestead/Munhall area), Allegheny Co., Pennsylvania. Living with them were their children Catherine E. (5), Lucy E. (4), Raymond S. (2), and Mary E. (7 mos). Also living with them was boarder Robert Thompson (49). John was employed as a laborer on a "St. Car." All members of the household were born in Pennsylvania. According to the census, John's father was born in France and his mother in Pennsylvania; Elizabeth's father was born in Pennsylvania and her mother in Scotland. At the time of the survey, Elizabeth had given birth to 4 children all of whom were still living.

On 17 Sep 1918, 27 year old John Charles Schweinberg of 505 Amity in Homestead, Pennsylvania filled out a draft registration card. John's occupation is illegible on the card. The registration states that he was of medium height and slender build, with brown eyes and brown hair. Under the Physical Disabilities section, the word "Rupture" was written.

At the time of the 1920 census, the Schweinberg family owned a mortgaged home on Botsford St. in Mifflin Twp., Allegheny County, Pennsylvania. The household consisted of John C. Schweinberg (38), his wife Elizabeth (33), and children Catherine (15), Lucy E. (14), Raymond S. (12), Mary C. (10), John C. (8), Paul (6) and Helen (4). Raymond, Mary, John and Paul attended school. Everyone in the household was a native of Pennsylvania. John's father and mother were born in France and Pennsylvania, respectively. Elizabeth's father and mother were from Pennsylvania and Scotland. John worked as a laborer on the electric railway.

In 1930, John C.Schweinberg (48) owned a home worth $13,000 on Botsford St. in Munhall, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania. Living in the household were his wife Elizabeth (44), and children Raymond (22), John C. Jr. (19), Paul (16), Helen (15), Dorothy A. (9), and Claire E. (4), as well as John's widowed daughter Mary E. Lizzie, who converted to Catholicism, was an invalid confined to a wheelchair in her later years. Her father and mother were born in Pennsylvania and Scotland, respectively.
