Earl S. Michel, age 96, longtime resident of Massillon died Sunday, January 21, 2007. He was born November 2, 1910, in Fulda, OH to the late Joseph and Elizabeth (Dimmerling) Michel. He moved to Massillon in 1936 and was a lifelong farmer in Jackson Township and a member of St. Paul’s Catholic Church.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Martha (Bing) in 1991; sons, Charles and David; daughter, Patricia Bryan; 5 brothers and 4 sisters.
Survived by his daughter, Janet Bossart of Massillon; son-in-law, Robert Bryan of Lincolnton, NC; grandchildren: Bill (Denise) Bryan, Christine (Dave) Kilgour, Debbie (Bill) Loots, Michael (Chris) Bossart, Scott (Janice) Bossart; great grandchildren: Hillary, Mercedes, Sabrina, Zachary, Tiffany, Jason, Matthew, Brian, Gregory, Michael Jr., Amanda and Shaun; great great grandchild, Sean; sister, Verna McDowell of Trenton, TN.

Fr. Joseph Finan read the nuptial high mass. The bridesmaid was Miss Verna Michael, sister of the groom and the best man, Carl Bing, brother of the bride. The bride chose for her wedding gown, an ankle length white satin dress with wreath and tulle veil. She wore a bridal corsage of white roses. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Bing, Lewisville and a graduate of the Lewisville high school, class of 1935. She is a member of Burkhart St. Josephs Catholic church. The groom is the son of Mrs. Elizabeth Michael, Caldwell and a member of the St. Mary's Catholic church of Fulda. The young couple will make their home near Caldwell. Immediately following the ceremony, a wedding dinner was given at the home of the bride's parents. A three tier white wedding cake decorated with doves carrying the wedding ring centered the table. Covers of bridal appointments were laid for fifty guests. In the evening, they were honored with a wedding dance in the Phi Delta Kappa hall, Caldwell and it was estimated that about two hundred were in attendance.

NICHOLAS Wearing a gown of traditional white, Miss Bernadine Mercer, daughter of Mrs. Mary Mercer, 1173 Wheeling avenue exchanged vows at 7:45 o'clock this morning with Cpl. James Michael, son of Mrs. Elizabeth Michael, Caldwell, route 1, in St. Nicholas Catholic church. The bride chose for her marriage a gown with bodice of white slipper satin fashioned with tiny buttons down the front and long sleeves ending in points over the hands; a sweetheart neckline and net skirt. A long veil of illusion completed her ensmble (sic). She carried a bouquet of pink roses and white iris. Miss Rita Mercer, sister of the bride, was maid of honor and wore a gown of yellow net styled sweetheart neckline, full skirt and three-quarter length sleeves. When the couple leave later in the week for Miami, Fla., the new Mrs. Michael will wear a grey suit with black accessories and a corsage from her bridal bouquet.

The family did not own a radio set. Andrew worked casting in a steel mill. The other family occupying the house was that of Fulda descendant Wilbert Herbst.

Andrew Estadt
Caldwell -- Andrew Estadt, 61, of Erwinna, Pa., native of Noble County, died at
11:55 p.m. Thursday (July 10) after a long illness. Mr. Estadt was born Oct 12 1907,
a son of Henry and Elizabeth Schoeppner Estadt and was employed at the Edgar
Thompson Steel Mill at Braddock, PA. He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic
Church at North Braddock, Pa.
Surviving are his widow, the former Hilma Michel; a son, Father Barry Estadt of
Herman, PA.; two daughters, Mrs. Virginia Kimmerle and Mrs. Eileen Paulcheck both
of Pittsburgh; six grandchildren, a sister, Mrs. Mildred Buckey of Caldwell and three
brothers, Clem Estadt of Caldwell, Bernard of Akron and James of Canton. Two brothers
and two sisters are deceased.
The body was taken to Lesko Funeral Home at North Braddock where friends may
call. Requiem Mass will be sung at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph's Church with burial
in a North Braddock Cemetery.

Michel; four great-grandchildren, Dominic W. Mincks, Matthew T. Bowen, Emily M. Bowen and Mason N. Michel; and one brother, James W. Ackley.

Burial is in Mount Olivet Cemetery in Caldwell. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Murphy-McCurdy Funeral Home in Caldwell. Vigil services are at 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
