WATERFORD — Edward J. Schott, 68, of 15690 Waterford
Road, Waterford, died at 5 p.m. Tuesday (May 17, 2005) at
Cleveland Clinic, Cleveland, Ohio. He was born July 21, 1936, in Waterford, a son of Oscar
John and Lucy Sorg Schott. He was a truck driver for many
years and was co-owner of Schott Brother’s Trucking for 27
years. He was employed at Warren School District as a
bus transportation supervisor and later as a mechanic. He
graduated from Waterford High School in 1954. He was a
member of St. Bernard Catholic Church and was active in
several church activities. He was a charter of the Beverly
Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed NASCAR races and
loved his job, especially working on a bus. On Aug. 1, 1957, he married Marilyn Strauss Schott,
who survives. He is also survived by one daughter, Den-
ise Sutton and her husband, William, of Marietta; four
sons, Brian Schott and his wife, Carol, of Marietta, Mitch
Schott and his wife, Loraine, of Waterford, Phil Schott
and his fiancée, Corinna, of Waterford, and Joe Schott
and his wife, Laura, of Waterford; nine grandchildren,
Aaron Sutton, Kaylee Sutton, Krissy Sutton, Matt Schott,
Sarah Schott, Marissa Schott, Kaitlin Schott, Chase
Schott, and Olivia Schott; and one sister, Lillian Arnold
of Beverly. He was preceded in death by his parents and two
brothers, Wilfred Schott and Ralph “Butch” Schott. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at
St. Bernard Catholic Church with Monsignor Robert
Kawa officiating. Burial will be in St. Bernard Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 2 to 9 p.m. Thursday at McCurdy
Funeral Home, Beverly. A Christian Wake service will
be held at 8:30 p.m. Thursday. Memorial contributions may be made to the St.
Bernard Catholic Church, Beverly.

BEVERLY - Jerome "Jerry" Arnold, 71, of Beverly died Sunday (Aug. 11, 2002) at his home of an apparent heart attack.
He was born May 2, 1931, in Marietta to John and Virginia Arnold and was raised on a farm. He attended St. Mary's Catholic High School in Marietta. He was a member of St. Bernard Catholic Church in Beverly.
After his marriage in 1952 he assisted his in-laws on a dairy farm in Waterford. He had an interest in cabinet building and, after working for a couple of years for Charlie Wilson building custom kitchen cabinets and homes, he branched out on his own. He was a self-employed custom homebuilder for more than 22 years. Working with his family and a couple of employees he built 59 homes throughout Washington and Morgan counties. He also hauled water on evenings and weekends. He retired from building homes after injuring his back in 1980 and his part-time residential water hauling business soon became more than a full-time occupation.He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Lillian; three sons, Michael J. Arnold and his wife, Dawn, of Wheaton, Ill., Nelson J. Arnold and his wife, Cindy, of Batavia, Ill., and Dennis A. Arnold of Cincinnati; one daughter, Beverly A. Arnold of Jacksonville, Fla.; six grandchildren, Serena and Brittany of Wheaton, Ill., and Kyle, Katie, Kelsey and Jazmine of Batavia, Ill.; two brothers, James Arnold and his wife, Maglena, and Anthony Arnold and his wife, Leora; four sisters, Sister Maria Arnold, Mary Lou Huck and her husband, John, Irene Lang and her husband, Joseph Jr., and Allene Huck and her husband, Vincent; two sisters-in-law, Catherine Arnold and Mildred Arnold; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one grandson, Jerrod Arnold; his parents; two brothers, George Arnold and William Arnold; and one sister, Bertha Ledger.
Funeral Mass is at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Beverly with Monsignor Robert Kawa officiating. Burial is in Beverly Catholic Cemetery. Visitation is from 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at McCurdy Funeral Home in Beverly, where rosary services are at 8:30 p.m. Wednesday.
