Mr. Burkhartbecame worse tht evening and consulted with a physician but as he did notimprove by Thursday, he called in his sister, Mrs. Harry Flowers, who waswith him when he passed away at 1:45 that afternoon. His wife wasnotified and returned home immediately.Joseph A. Burkhart was born near Ozark, May 2, 1867, and was a son ofGeorge B. and Magdalena Burkhart. he has been a resident of Barnesvillefor many years and was employed at Watt Car Wheel Company. He was aclever, likeable man and had a number of friends.
Besides his wife, who was Miss Nellie Kearney, he leaves one daughter,Mrs. Marcella Thimnes of Chicago, and a stepson, Mr. John F. Murphy,Washington, DC.
