Richard Walter Michel [Parents] 1, 2, 3, 4 was born on 23 May 1928 in Canton, Stark Co., OH. He died on 27 Feb 2006 in Canton, Stark Co., OH. He married Lucille Adeline Nauer on 10 Jun 1950 in St. Joseph Church, Burkhart, Monroe Co., OH.

Mr. and Mrs. Richard Michel of Canton will celebrate
their 50th anniversary today with a party. The party will be
given by their children: Shirley McAllister, Larry Michel,
Darrell Michel, Ruth Sonntag, Dennis Michel and Gary
Michel, all of Canton; Darlene Cline of Houston; and
their grandchildren. The former Lucille Nauer and her husband were
married June 10, 1950, in St. Joseph's Church in Burk-
hart, Ohio. They attend St. John's Catholic Church. There are 16 grandchildren and four great-grand-
children. Michel is retired from Canton Glove. Mrs. Michel is
employed at Canton Woman's Club.

Richard W. Michel, age 77, died Monday in Aultman
Hospital after a brief illness. He was a life resident of
Canton and was retired from the Canton Glove Co. He
was a member of St. John’s Catholic Church.
Survived by his wife, Lucille A Michel; three daughters
and sons-in-law, Shirley and Bruce McAllister of Massillon,
Darlene and Jim Cline of Houston, TX, Ruth and Chris
Sonntag of Canton; four sons and daughters-in-law, Larry
and Tracey Michel of Richville, Darrell and Sharon Michel
of Navarre, Dennis and Lana Michel of Massillon, Gary
and Cindy Michel of Canton; 16 grandchildren, six great
grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law, Arlene and Arthur
Kuhn of N. Canton. Preceded in death by his parents, Roy
A. and Clara C. (Shaffer) Michel; and a brother, Wilmer J.
Michel.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday at 10 a.m. in the
St. John’s Catholic Church with Fr. Ronald Klingler as cele-
brant. Burial will be in Sunset Hills Memory Gardens. Friends
may call Thursday from 6-9 p.m. at the Lamiell Funeral Home.

Richard F. “Digger” Paquelet, age 81 of Louisville, loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather passed away Tuesday, June 12, 2007 in St. Joseph Care Center following an extended illness. Dick was born July 25, 1925 in Louisville to the late Raymond and Frieda (Michel) Paquelet.

He was a graduate of Louisville High School Class of 1943. He proudly served his country during WWII in the Army Air Force. He attended Mt. Union College and was a graduate of the Pittsburgh School of Mortuary Science Class of 1950. Richard was the fourth generation to join the family business and along with his brother, Paul, they owned and operated the Paquelet Funeral Home and Paquelet Furniture Store and provided ambulance service to the residents of Louisville. He retired in 1995 following 50 years of dedicated service as a licensed funeral director and embalmer. He was a member of NFDA and OFDA where he served as past president of District 16.

Richard was a charter member of the Louisville Eagles, a member of American Legion Post #548, VFW Post #7490, Knights of Columbus and Louisville Rotary Club where he served as past president and was a Paul Harris Fellow. He served on the board and was treasurer of the Louisville Salvation Army for many years. Richard was a member of St. Louis Catholic Church where he served as a past usher and Eucharistic minister and was a volunteer at St. Joseph Care Center. His interests included bowling, golfing, hunting, playing cards, stamp collecting and traveling. He was an avid University of Notre Dame and Louisville High School football fan. Richard enjoyed helping others and the time he spent swimming with his friends from the YMCA physically challenged group.

Richard is survived by his devoted wife of 24 years, Paula (Miller) Paquelet; children, Mary Kay Paquelet, Anne (Tommy) Walters, Julia (Robert) Leydon, Frances (John) Falk, Richard F. Paquelet II, John (Eva) Paquelet, Scot (Betsy) Lucas and Amy Karczewski; brother, Paul (Norma) Paquelet; grandchildren, Brian Hertel, Jeff Hertel, Julie (Jeremy) Keck, Philip Anghelanti, Brittany Leydon, Katherine Leydon, Elizabeth Leydon, Danielle Falk, Kyle Falk, Reine Salazar, Amber Paquelet, Michael Paquelet, Lola Lucas and Drew Karczewski; great-grandchildren, Holden Keck and Lucas Leech; sister-in-law, Glenda (Bob) Neely; father-in-law, Virgil Miller; his card buddies, many special friends and caregiver, Michelle who took such great care of him during the last few months. He is preceded in death by his brother, Tommy.

A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Monday at 10:30 a.m. in St. Louis Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. Ronald M. Klingler officiating. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery. Richard's family will receive friends Sunday from 1-4 p.m. at the Paquelet-Falk Funeral Home in Louisville where K of C services will be conducted at 12:30 p.m. and a Rosary Service held at 4:00 p.m.

Memorial contributions may be made in his memory to St. Louis Catholic Church or to the St. Joseph Care Center Chapel Fund. Special thanks to Dr. Prosser and the staff at St. Joseph Care Center for the loving care they offered to Richard and his family.
